Walt Disney – Reason #15 Why I Love America

Walt Disney, the man, not the company although all things considered the company should make the Top 100 Reasons too. Walt Disney created some of the most special pieces of true American art. His contributions to America are literally works of art on par with histories greatest painters, sculptors, writers, and composers. He taught us all that you can have a dream and no matter how big that dream is that you can bring it to life. His legacy is one of optimism, big dreams, and open minds. We can all be American Princesses and Princes.

Here are Walt’s own words to remember him by:

All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.

I would rather entertain and hope that people learned something than educate people and hope they were entertained.

The more you like yourself, the less you are like anyone else, which makes you unique.

The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.

There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate’s loot on Treasure Island.

You’re dead if you aim only for kids. Adults are only kids grown up, anyway.

I can never stand still. I must explore and experiment. I am never satisfied with my work. I resent the limitations of my own imagination.

If you can dream it, you can do it. (which was incorporated by R. Kelly in his iconic “I Believe I Can Fly”)
